SCOTLAND VS THE WORLD PICKS UP CMA NOMINATION!

Our sports doc series ‘Scotland Vs The World’ for BBC Radio Scotland has picked up a nomination at the Celtic Media Awards 2026 in the Best Sports Programme category.

The series, hosted by sports broadcaster Andrew Cotter, takes a quirky but informed look at iconic and inspiring Scottish sporting stories, and for our nominated episode we looked at the centenary of Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

On the 21st March 2025 Murrayfield Stadium celebrated it’s centenary as Scotland’s National Rugby Stadium, a historic landmark for this most unique of sporting arenas. Murrayfield’s 100-year story started in typically dramatic fashion with its first ever match in 1925 hosting the small matter of a Grand Slam decider vs England.  Nothing like piling on the pressure…

We look at the history of the building of the stadium, key games over the last 100 years, and hear the reminisces from our brilliant contributors, including Graham Law, Derek Douglas, Jim Telfer, Bill Johnstone, Scott Hastings, and Melanie Christie.
